For more than 20 years I have studied New Orleans through the lens of my camera. During that time, I have learned to appreciate her nuances, forgive her faults, relish the beauty of her architecture, savor the uniqueness of her culinary and musical heritage. With each click of the camera I treasure this place a little more. These are my thoughts in words and pictures.

George H. W. Bush

When the Republican National Convention began in New Orleans in 1988, The Times-Picayune had an army of journalists ready to cover it.  As part of the team, I was perched behind the stage in the Superdome. I was surprised like most of the crowd – but ready – when George H. W. Bush lifted his granddaughter in the air to the applause of thousands. Today we say goodbye to our 41st president. He held the office with dignity and it is with great respect that the world acknowledges his life.
